update from my part of the internet

I've been using Posterous for almost half a year now and I've been very satisfied with using it as my blogging service.  However, I've registered a new web domain and am looking into using it for photoblogging (well, anything that I might want to try out down the road).  I'm still using Posterous for my blog (http://blog.alexjcho.com) and it's helped me to recognize some elements that make Posterous great, but also those that would make it even better.

Things I love:

  1. Garry and Sachin are dedicated to Posterous and well-connected with its user base. Their loyalty actually deters me from forming any thought of leaving Posterous.
  2. It doesn't really get any easier than e-mailing to post to anywhere.
  3. I can't really imagine using any other engine that has the reliability that Posterous has.

Things I will love (hopefully):

  1. I'm still waiting on some media player improvement.  I want to use Yahoo's Media Player or something else that might let me use playlists instead of one song at a time.
  2. I want themes! I know this is just front-end and Garry & Sachin are simply bogged down with more important things that make Posterous what it is, but it'd be just like Christmas morning if I could theme my Posterous.  Color schemes or anything!
  3. Ability to add a little more to the sidebar? I wish there were more I could provide for my visitors (who read my website and never leave comments).  Maybe add-ons or at least link support.

Here's to Posterous.

Thanks for your feedback and your evangelism about posterous. When we get those things in the product, you're going to love it even more, and I can't wait to work on those features. (Just a few more other things in the queue...)

Playlists are almost here. ;-) Now that we redid our player, we're much closer to offering a playlist solution.
